Hervey Bay RSL Community Grants Program
The Hervey Bay RSL Community Grants Program reflects the RSL’s ongoing commitment to supporting and strengthening our local community.
The program provides financial assistance, in-kind support and fundraising opportunities to local not-for-profit organisations, sporting groups and clubs, and junior sporting individuals who may otherwise face challenges in securing the support they need.
The program was established to ensure the Club’s annual community contributions are distributed fairly among deserving applicants and organisations that make a meaningful and positive contribution to the Fraser Coast community.
Over the past 10 years, the Hervey Bay RSL has proudly contributed more than $7 million to support local community initiatives, organisations and individuals.

Hervey Bay RSL Community Grant — Requirements Checklist
Eligibility
- Applicant/organisation is located on the Fraser Coast.
- Applicant is a local not-for-profit organisation, charity, sporting group/club, or eligible junior sporting individual.
- Applicant has not already applied during the current financial year, unless prior approval was obtained from the Donations Committee.
- The applicant, or the supporting individual, is a financial member of Hervey Bay RSL & Services Memorial Club before applying.
- Applicant is 18 years or older at the time of application. If the applicant is under 18, the parent/guardian is making the application.
If this is for a junior sporting individual grant:
- The junior athlete has been selected to represent Wide Bay, Queensland or Australia (through representative club or school sports)
- The application includes the official selection letter.
- Invitations to international sporting tours are not considered formal selection for the purposes of the Junior Individual Grant. This includes invitations to participate in third-party or privately organised sporting tours where the applicant has been invited to attend but has not been formally selected to represent Wide Bay, Queensland or Australia. Applicants may still apply for support; however, any approval for funding will be at the discretion of the Donations Committee.
- Where two or more players from the same team or squad are selected to participate in the same representative event, the application for community grant funding must be submitted on behalf of the team as a whole by the coach, team coordinator or other authorised team representative.
Funding request
- The application clearly states what the grant money will be used for.
- The amount requested is supported by quotes.
- The quotes show the exact costings corresponding to the amount requested.
- The requested money will be spent only on the purpose stated in the application.
- You can provide proof of expenditure after receiving the grant and understand that an acquittal report will be required.
Timing
- If requested funding is for an event, the application is submitted at least six weeks prior to allow the donations committee ample time for consideration.
Obligations if successful
- Applicant understands they will be required to sign a donation confirmation acknowledging the specific conditions of the grant.
- Applicant agrees that Hervey Bay RSL & Services Memorial Club can make full use of the application details.
- Applicant is prepared to participate in photos or video if requested for promotional purposes.
- Applicant understands that the Donations Committee makes the final decision and may alter the category of the grant to suit the application. The committee’s decision is final and not subject to any further correspondence.
